Sentencing for Rexton Man Charged with Drug Trafficking

A 44-year-old Upper Rexton, N.B., man has been sentenced to two years in jail on drug trafficking charges.

R.C.M.P. say Ron Hebert pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking.

Hebert was arrested May 24 after police carried out search warrants at homes in Richibucto and Upper Rexton.

Police say 44-year old Richibucto man who was also arrested, pleaded guilty in a Moncton court today to trafficking and marijuana production charges.

Daniel Andre Landry was released on conditions and is to return to court for sentencing on July 10.

Police say the arrests were made as part of an investigation into the trafficking of OxyContin on the Elsipogtog First Nation.
